How to hook up 2 denon 5500 turntables with vitural dj and serato box?

I have two denon 5500 turntables without cd ports and i have a denon 1500 Mixer, with the serato box and vitural dj? i need step by step instructions on how to set it up and get both Turntables to work properly. P.S. i have vista 64 bit and vitural dj 6.0 version

Hi mate,

I have done this before so ill try to put it in leamen’s terms.

1, Get two cords of "Standard USB – Male Type ‘B’ heads", The connector you want is the far right connector in the image link below, these can be purchased of eBay, electronic and PC shops cheap.

2, Connect each Dennon deck with the USB cords placing the "Male ‘B’ head" connection into the socket of the deck at the bottom far left of the rear of each unit.

3, Then connect the two "Standard USB" plugs into your PC’s USB sockets, the computer shouldn’t require any drivers as the decks will configure with the software.

4, I would highly recommend using "Tracktor scratch Pro" as it is far more easier to sync decks with and it’s a much better interface to work with. You can purchase the software or can download it through a torrent or possible free trial and see what you think.

5, I have tried numerous times to set up external decks with Virtual Dj, however they were extremely hard to midi map and Virtual Dj doesn’t support many deck interfaces. With Tracktor however, you can easily midi map all of you deck’s buttons, platters and sliders with a simple click of the learn button in the configurations tab.

6, When Midi mapping your setup,(configuring buttons to actions), go into options in Tracktor or if you are using VDJ, then click on the Midi/Midi Map config, then select the desired action to sync (from the scroll down box) then hit the learn button and press the relating button on your decks, now you have made a connection between those actions and buttons.

Hope this helps ;)

Dj Turntables that use mp3’s instead of vinyls?

So i am interested in becoming a DJ. I don’t, however, want to use vinyl records for music. All i’m looking to do is use my music from my computer and somehow use the turntable to mix with my already owned music on my computer. Any ideas? Does such a thing exist?

Kind of – you can do it with an external unit or with software:
