About a month ago I bought a really good guitar, a Fender Telecaster. With my limited budget I had to skip on a guitar tuner. Every new guitar needs to be tuned regularly as it gets tuned out while the strings settles. When the strings settles, the guitar needs to tuned once every few plays.

I decided that it would be much cheaper to download digital guitar tuner software from the internet. It was all I need as I played the guitar at home and at my friend’s garage. I would tune my guitar at home before heading off for band practice at my friends house.

Two months ago, we got a gig at our local club. Then the cold hard facts hits me right in the face, I don’t have a guitar tuner. With only a few bucks to spare I went out to get the cheapest option available. I used it to tune my guitar for the gig.

I decided to safe up and get me a really good guitar tuner. I remembered someone once told me about a Korg guitar tuner. I thought to myself that research will be the only way to find the perfect guitar tuner for my needs. With the different functions guitar tuners are equipped with, I decided to learn more about them. I will make it a point to find the perfect guitar tuner for myself.

After much consideration, I decided that I want to help my fellow musicians out there to find the right guitar tuners.

Acoustic guitar learning is made out to be very easy, at least if you take your cues from most internet advertising. Learning classical acoustic guitar involves mastering a very detailed way of picking and strumming the strings on the guitar, and most of the time it also requires that you learn to read sheet music using the Standard staff notation, rather than using the type of musical notation known as acoustic guitar tabs. The music you play will get complicated quite quickly. So as you learn to read the music, learn the finger positions of your left hand on the frets, and learn the correct ways of picking the notes with the fingers of your right hand, you might find that you have so much to absorb that any progress is going to take time.

Unless you’re going to spend hours at your computer during your acoustic guitar learning, you may want to start with books. The three-volume set, “Learning the Classic Guitar” by A. Shearer, is regarded as among the most comprehensive learning guides for technique, music reading and even the development of performance styles. As you work through such a book, you can supplement your study with acoustic guitar lessons on websites like YouTube or other teaching sites. You will benefit from seeing the guitar played as well as reading about it on a page.

Acoustic guitar learning without an actual instructor can be easy or complicated, depending on which style of music you choose to study. To have any kind of professional future, except perhaps in rock and roll, you will undoubtedly have to get professional instruction. If you teach yourself how to play classical guitar, and if you don’t plan to go any farther than just casual and personal playing, then you might reach a level of proficiency that is entirely satisfactory to your needs.
